“It’s been an interesting journey since quantopian.com shut down. Many of the principles from that company went over to quantconnect, and I decided to give it a try. Although they have a version of python in their system, I found it to be not user-friendly. When I reached out for help, I was informed that I would need to pay a monthly service fee of $80, which I wasn’t comfortable with.
That’s when I discovered ChatGPT and it’s ability to help me write a python script for backtesting. I was able to obtain the entire history of ETF TQQQ from Yahoo finance and run my custom-made python script. With a few modifications to my trade strategies, I was able to improve my returns by a significant 1700% over the course of 11 years, which equates to about 150% per year. This is a considerable improvement from my previous tests with quantopian, and I’m excited to continue using this new and improved trading strategy in future endeavors.”
